Cooper STT Pro - North Yorkshire
Collective - despite my best efforts over the last couple of days I am struggling to find a supply/fit solution in North Yorkshire (I am Harrogate based).

The local Cooper agents are scratching their heads - took a phone call from the 'technical manager' today who basically said they are not a UK tyre?.

Whilst I can find them online to mail order, I am struggling to find anybody to fit them - they all seem to shy away if they have not supplied the tyres.

Any NY guys got suggestions?

Any help greatly appreciated. Rgds.

Chris

Unlikely to be the cheapest option out there, but twisted are fitting them at the moment so you couldn’t give them a shout.

Have you tried a mobile fitter, they tend to fit anything. The order online and get fitted at home

Bankz posted a while back about these being no longer type approved in some sizes for some reason. I wonder if the main tyre places wont get them in due to the change in type conformity.

As others have said though mobile fitters will do anything, esp the truck tyre ones.

Many of the STT Pro sizes are only speed rated (K)to 68mph, maybe they've sussed that it's not legal to drive them at motorway speeds?

Done a bit more research - they do a Q rated one (100mph), but again, nobody seems to have them and I can't find anybody local who will fit tyres that they have not supplied. Big Cry

One company have said they can get them but they would require payment up front and it will be 3 weeks minimum delivery time - price being quoted is similar to BFG. Rgds.

Correct in that they do a 'Q' but only in the smaller tyre certain sizes.
interestingly even a lot of the 18 inch tyres are K rated.

I have been trying to find a set 235/85/16 STT Pros for the last 3 months.
No companys in the whole of mainland Europe,so France,Germany,Spain Italy or Netherlands had any stock.
I eventualy found some a Craddocks of all places,& cheaper than anywhere I'd looked in Europe.
Thumbs Up

I've been considering what to replace my Cooper AT3s with, and fancied something more aggressive.

K speed ratings are just that bit too low. I don't do a lot of motorway work, but would realistically want something legal to 80mph. M or N rated would be absolutely fine.

That said, then noise from them at motorway speed may limit the speed more than anything else!

According to my tyre dude the size I want 235/85R16 cooper stt Pro are out of stock, on back order and with no current production date from cooper them selves in the states. Let alone a shipping lead time.

Good job i'm not in a rush for a set of boots for my series project yet. Rolling Eyes Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

I'm a big fan of the cooper brand, it's a tyre that gave a good cost advantage against the BFG and IMHO for the all terrain the ST-maxx are just as good as the the KO2 and a good chunk of change cheaper.

If cooper can't come up with the goods for me in the next month or so then option C is the Falken Wildpeak MT. Failing that my A option, The Insa turbo traction track will be back in stock. Rolling with laughter

I couldn't of written it that I seem to have a penchant for out of stock tyres. Whistle Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest
