Searched on this subject but to no avail, so:
I have a '55 plate 110 CSW Td5, with the usual R380 gearbox. It's got about 50k on the clock. When coming back from 5th gear towards the centre of the stick (i.e. the neutral position between 3rd & 4th), there is a loud click from underneath the car. The best way I can describe it is the noise that those Newton's cradle things make - you know the executive toys with the balls on strings (fnar). My old Td5 didn't do this, and this new gearbox feels different too - there is much more slop to the right of the neutral position, i.e. when putting it in 5th it seems the gearstick goes right, forward, then left into the 5th position. The gearbox works fine mind, so I'm reluctant to start stripping things if it's nowt to worry about. Any ideas? |

Hi the click isnt anything to worry about its the reverse interlock in the gearbox disengauging (to stop selecting Reverse if you think you have a 6 speed box)
