Puma 2.2 fuel filter change + workshop manual

Do I need to pre-fill the new fuel filter with Diesel prior to fitting to a 2016 Defender 110SW 2.2l Puma?

Been searching forums and am getting confused - seems to be a variety of opinions. I don't want to stuff anything up.

also - is there a definitive Workshop manual for the Puma Defenders 2.2l? If so, how do I get hold of it? I have the Haynes Defender 2007-2016 workshop manual but it doesn't seem to have been fully updated for the 2.2l.

2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Indus Silver

For a 2.2 Puma Defender there is no need to fill new filter before installing. When swapped over turn on the ignition to position 2 (do not start the engine) and you'll hear the fuel pump in the tank start to whirr. This will pump fuel through the system and fill the new filter / purge the air out (probably about 20 seconds or so). Do this 5 or 6 times to fully purge the air out. Then you should be good to go.
The earlier 2.4 pumas didn't have the lift pump in the tank and require a different method to be followed.

Yes, worked fine for me. I was a little worried first, because I heard a gurgling noise even after 5 pump cycles. I did 5 more but it didn't change significantly. It started and ran fine though and next day the noise was gone.
