No, it’s a day early for April Fool and anyway Volkswagen got free publicity with that early April Fool

Testing in Arizona, no rain, no deep water so no wet electrics yet, and why did they keep the manual transmission and transfer case?
Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Yeah Tim that seems a little lazy, maybe a high & low gear would give some extra grunt/control for crawling but the rest (including reverse) are superfluous.
Have you seen this one from ECC? (I wish this guy would learn to sort out his sound levels)

They have installed their own neat F/N/R selector. No gears needed.
