Check your front air springs
SSM 75281 - Defender and Discovery - Front Air Spring – Air Leak

"If an air leak is not confirmed, check the label on both front air struts (see attachment), looking at the date of manufacture. If dates are between 01/08/2020 and 20/11/2020, replace the Shock Absorber Air Spring Assembly".

TBH if mine were in that date period I would just complain of the symptoms so they would get preventatively replaced. Rather than losing a spring somewhere in the bush.

One of more than a few. What are you going to do?

Wholesale figures for August through to November total to 20,474.

No doubt some of them will still be in the dealer network.

That's the issue - Big boss says reliability is loosing customers and here's a chance for them to get in front of a potential problem and they won't. Old habits die hard.

Irony is, doing a proactive recall would actually foster some positive goodwill, put money in the hands of the dealer network and if the issue is supplier related JLR can usually pass costs back to them. Where's the downside for JLR?

I’ve emailed the supplying dealer today who said they would look into it ( i mentioned the SSM number in the email ) and contact me to arrange a time / date if my vehicle is effected and that they will have to order required parts for warranty replacement. This on top of several other issues on the list to resolve ! They did not give any clear times for rectification as i guess there maybe a global shortage of these suspension items

Will keep posting updates as and when i hear anything !

What problem have you had @Steve W? I’ve had 4 so far, 2 have been fixed a 2WD only warning message and a awful mechanical noise when braking which thankfully was only a bit of the heat shield rubbing on the prop, the others 1 is booked in for software patch sometime in April for the glitch on driver display differentials screen and lastly I’ve noticed satin wrap peeling away in two areas of concern this is booked in for body shop to inspect.

===============================

So I’ve had the following issues but i do love the car first and foremost its awesome i wanted to keep my 90xs but money wasn’t on my side ( i did gain as i px the 90 for more that i bought it for 6 years ago ! )

Steering wheel damage to leather caused by a clamp
Collision avoidance activates when there’s nothing around the vehicle
Rear door stay came off on closing damaged bottom of door
SATNAV freezes and will not reset until i off / on the engine

Nothing major all minor annoyance !

That’s all for 310 miles ..... !
But dealer has been good so far and now awaiting a call back for timeframes
