Holding pool is what I was told too. I put the order in a week ago with the dealer but only this week have orders for 22MY been accepted by the factory/LR.
No idea what any of this means though. I guess I am waiting for a build date estimate |

Holding pool is where all the orders go while the finish the current production run. Once that’s complete a build slot will be allocated and you will get your dates though for build, last modification etc

I placed an order for a 110 D300 HSE at the end of January which went straight into the holding pool.
I finally received notification that a build slot had been allocated at the beginning of last week, with build to take place during the week ending 18 June, and the car to be at the retailer by the week ending 9 July... My dealer tells me that, were I to change any of the significant elements of my build (w/b, engine, spec level), then my order would be treated as having been cancelled, and I'd go to the back of the queue. That would put delivery back towards October. Joel |

Hope I’m not near the back of the queue.
Hopefully, I’ll get a call soon with a build date. Maybe a June delivery is way too optimistic for me, your about 6 weeks ahead of me so I’m thinking mid to end of August  Cheers Simon

So........
As it is a couple of weeks since I ordered my Defender, I thought I’d email the salesman for an up date. He emailed back to say I’m still in the Holding Pool and he’s going to let me know as soon as Land Rover pull it into a build slot. Still no further then ........ They're still spitting out the last of the 21MY's I think. Until they've done that and reconfigured for 22MY and I would have thought nobody will know for certain Steve N | 21MY Defender

I know, plus the stock shortages isn’t helping.
My build should be straight forward S spec, Santorini Black, Black visual pack and 19” gloss black alloys. Received a call from the dealer today.
I have a build date ! 👏🏻 8th June with a delivery date 29th June. I was fearing longer lead times, but I said I would be happy this side of June so hopefully everything being equal it arrives on time. I put an order in at the end of March. By the middle of April the dealer said he was going on holiday for a fortnight and would give me an update after the May bank holiday. I emailed for an update today, but no news yet. I was originally told 10-12 weeks from order. Let's see what happens.

When I ordered mine on 16 March the dealer said it would probably be a June delivery.
After placing the order, it went into the holding pool for approx 4 weeks ( I think) as JLR were finishing the 2021 MY So this delays delivery times. On the plus side we get a 2022 MY. For me I think I will get full leather seats on my S spec instead of part cloth. Not sure what else changes. Hopefully you’ll get a call this week with good news. Even with a delivery date the waiting does not get any easier! Yes it will be full leather, they started fitting full leather on S models at 21MY 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
