2016 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Montalcino Red

Defender X P400 22MY Ordered

Well Folks

Its done, ordered and hopefully will be pushed through the build process due to my issues with a Range Rover that has been bought back.

In summary I have ordered a Defender X 110 P400 with the following spec;

Eiger Grey
5098 Satin Dark Grey wheels with off road tyres
Gloss Black Graphic Pack
Privacy Glass
Black Contrast Roof
Detachable Tow Bar
11.4" Screen
Cold Climate Pack
Front Undershield
Garage Door Opener
Tracker Pro
F & R Classic Mud Flaps
Wheel Arch Protection
Fixed Side Steps
And a few other bits such as floor mats etc

Hopefully I don't think I have missed anything but feel free to say if you think I have

"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

So been told by the dealer that because I ordered the 11.4" screen there will be a delay and the car is likely to go into build late June so not to expect it until August - so a 71 plate it will be then! Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

The dealer called me the other day to say my order had hopefully been brought forward despite everything I was told earlier and should be with them late May/early June so not sure whats going on but good news.

Bought some Denali LED lights to add as reversing lights (similar to the Powerful UK lights) but better quality with a 5 year warranty and IR67 rated and also the Powerful UK loom to fit them.

Also got a set of 19" OEM alloys that are as new takeoff's with tyres for off roading (set of 5 for £650 inc P&P inc new tyres) so lots of stuff to do when the car actually arrives

How did you manage to get the OEM 19" wheels/tyres? Did the dealer just have them left over? I have an XS on order, so the same wheels as the X. Very nice road wheels, but I am looking at getting 18" or 19" which off-road tyres as a second set (I have the D250 so think with the smaller brakes it is ok).

Og250, a friend has a few sets available (he is in the wheel trade and swaps for non OEM etc) and then sells on the wheels he takes off.

At the moment he has 2 sets of style 6009 wheels (4 wheels) one set having Wrangler At's (£950 delivered) and the other Conti Cross Contacts (£760 delivered) - both sets are as new with no marks and only covered 20 or so miles with TPMS.

There is a set of 5 wheels style 6010 with Conti Cross Contacts again as new for £950 and then a couple of sets of 20" style 5095's.

Thanks for the heads up. Seems like a good price! I ideally want 18” (and 5 wheels for my OCD!). Not bothered about road tyres as I will want some nice chunky rubber and will probably have to buy separately.

The dealer emailed me today checking my spec as tomorrow it becomes spec locked

Hopefully that means I should get a build date sometime soon and then the wait to actually pick her up

I did check the build and considered changing the colour but decided against so no changes but I might leave the wheel arch protection for later as think I would need them painted and matching the other X black pack bits

Your spec is good.

I’ve ordered S d250 hardtop Santorini black, 19” 6010 gloss black alloys, black visual pack.

I did have a wobble over colour myself thinking Eiger Grey with the black wheels and visual pack would be cool but my Discovery is Eiger Grey with black, didn’t want them to look like fleet vehicles

Should be pretty straightforward to build quickly

Ryderoo, you will love the D250 engine as it has a low down rumble of the 6 cyl and lots of grunt - we drove the 90 with that engine
