Towing electric box clicking
Abit of an odd one this, at the rear OS corner is a little box which is part of the towing electrics.

When the ignition is off, it clicks...kind of like on.....pause....then off.

You can feel it when holding it, almost like a relay.

There is nothing plugged into the towing side of things and if I wasn't sleeping in it I'd probably never notice it, but alas I did all night last night! I turned the ignition key to the first bit and it stopped...as nothing else has come on I'll probably leave it on that setting for the night

Any idea what might be causing it?

Non LR towing electrics presumably, and this is a voltage sensing relay for the ignition feed.

Genuine LR electrics for Pumas don't have a voltage sensing relay.

Was the vehicle hooked up/on charge when it was doing it?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I don't know if it's original, but as you say, if it's a voltage sensitive relay then perhaps it isn't.

The feed for it must be from the main battery, everything else inside that I've added is powered by the leisure batteries which are completely independent, however they are connected to the main battery via a Victron Cyclix relay...but that is only a one way system, ie when the voltage is high enough to open the circuit.

There is no EHU for the main battery or the 3 leisure batteries...everything works without the need for EHU.

At least I know what is causing the noise...the only real difference to me not hearing it before is I've come back from a drive 15 minutes before I noticed the noise.

So something must be causing the VSR to open and close.
