United Kingdom 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Zermatt Silver
today
I have just had a parrot blue tooth phone kit fitted, can also fit my iPod to it.
Had a wind screen aerial fitted as I don’t like the chrome pull up one on the bonnet
Also had a dead lock which works with the central locking fitted to the rear door.

hope to fit my new cubby box at the week end Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

ok will speak to the fitter.
it is a clear film with a wire in it and sticks to the screen. the cable goes in to a small black plastic rectangle and through to the radio. job done.
will take a photo and find out make etc

Couldn't the wiring of the windshield heater be used as antenna, as other manus do? Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

This could be worth researching, as does Landrover not already do this with the rear heated screens in Discos?

No, the aerial (on the Disco 2 at any rate) is integrated into the rear side windows, where although it does loosely resemble a heating element it is only an aerial (there is one on each side). The heating element in the rear window is just a heating element.

I have always been impressed with the design and performance of the Disco 2 aerial, and it is ideal for an offroader. By contrast the chrome twig on a Defender is daft, and I have often wondered if a Disco 2 style arrangement could be built into the rear 3/4 windows of my DC.
