 The OBD version just plugs into the OBD port and uses minimal power. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Budget-Vehicle-...xyni9S~Mzk It isn't interfaced to the car alarm, but you can set a geofence, so if the car leaves the pre defined area on the map you get an sms text and email alert warning you. You can also do live tracking through their website. I have no affiliation to them, other than being a happy customer. I guess the downside to an OBD version is that it is vulnerable as it is easy for thieves to find. especially on a Defender if they are going for the OBD port anyway  I replaced the OBD port on my Defender with a dummy OBD socket and plugged in an OBD extension lead to re-route the live OBD port up into the dashboard area. | ||
