If it's not recorded in the vehicle documentation somewhere then you should be able to retrieve it from a dealer. I'm not sure what information they'll require from you but I'd suggest giving one a call to see what they say.

Oh, and welcome on board Smile Darren

Assuming that you have the original style Lucas 10AS and not the later non-Lucas part, it should be possible to read the EKA code from the 10AS using a diagnostic tool.

Contributing the little I know:
- if your Defender is a later one and your key fob has the chrome strip then your alarm controller isn’t the 10AS
- the 10AS is housed in a green box, the later controller has a black box (take the lower dash loudspeaker out on the driver’s side and you can see it)
- I don’t know about the 10AS but the EKA for the later unit is stored in the main ECU and not the alarm controller and cannot be interrogated
- if you don’t know your EKA then a Land Rover dealer can but will want to check you out
- your EKA may not help, it may shut the alarm up but leave you immobilised
- after my alarm problems, it turned out to be an intermittent fault on the wireless receiver. They replaced the alarm controller too (because that is what the LR bulletin says) but that may have been an unnecessary £400.
Good luck, our alarm problem earlier this year was miserable but it seems to be sorted now and our confidence is returning. Cheers, Guy.
