I just can’t cure the illness.
Yup. After selling the G4, i vowed to NEVER have another Defender as a daily. (Obviously will never sell the v8 Ninety… that’s used and abused…and pampered).
8 months or so on, Ginjez’s ex RS4 got moved on and as I got tired of taking the Ewok onto shooting grounds, I deemed it a bit too ‘girly’… (we’ve had the Ewok for about 5 years and it has been fantastic, it’s been treated to a fresh look with new wheels and tyres. We were going swap it, but we can’t find a Disco Sport SD4 in as good as condition, with similar miles without adding £10k to it, seems daft.

So i had to pay over the odds to get back in a 90 (they aren’t worth anywhere near what they sell for, imho), I had a specific requirement: Hard Top County, as standard as possible. I considered even getting a Puma if i needed…. But, got a td5.

Spec. as bought.
County HT
114k miles.
Td5.
New seat frames and foams, with leather x3! Even the centre chair.
It’s the tidiest looking i could find, with no mods… other than silicone hoses.
Standard exhaust and still has egr.
Masai steps, which i was gonna spanner off and sell. But Mrs G finds them useful.
Tarted up for sale, with some terrible touch ups! (Stuff hidden underneath with wax and painted, rusty mudflap brackets and tub cappings… nothing i can’t sort myself, when i can be bothered.
The tyres were fresh, but hugely annoyingly they’d skimped on the spare Rolling Eyes
Luckily it drove as sweet as a penny (as Defenders go).
So within a week I found a fresh set of take-off Boosts, with OE tyres. TIMES FIVE
Removed the badly fitted, rear over sized lamp and fitted an RI lamp, switchable from the back and an antenna mount.
Fitted wind deflectors, as i like the door glass open a bit, even if it’s raining.
Removed the new centre leather chair and stuck a new cubby box in its place.
Then the usual MudStuff mods, map nets on the headlining for storing shades and hats n stuff, vanity mirror for the missus and a Blue Sea dual usb charger -in place of the 12v socket.
Then I fitted the drawer out of the v8, for gun stuff and the usual theft deterrents and trackers etc.

And that is pretty much it.

Future mods will be upgrading the speakers, I’m really, really going leave it alone.

Lady Haggis is currently heavily hinting that she would like a 90 in pretty much that spec, although it would have to be an auto so probably an M57 as she can't reach the pedals in my DC Rolling with laughter

Looks very nice. Surely whatever you've paid for it is exactly what it's worth, though, at that moment at least? Darren

Looks great 👍

It's funny though isn't it, I found that when I changed my first Defender for a Discovery there was a point I said I wouldn't go back to a Defender.... Well it happened as the pull back to one became too much Whistle Laughing
