Bulkheads - repair / replace
Weighing up some options for the truck, there’s a few bits on the bulkhead that could do with some attention.

I’m looking at options but I’m less bothered by cost compared to faff, has anyone found a decent supplier of galvanised bulkheads?

Is it easy enough to replace the bulkhead without removing too much of the truck?

I’m tempted to get a galvanised one and sell the old one on.

I have just seen a Paddocks one (not mine) which was delivered last week.

If you have no other option it is usuable, but it’s not that great. The construction method is different and simplified from original, understandably to make it easier to construct without dedicated pressses and spot welding machines. Also Foot wells aren’t double skinned, sloppy puddle welds on the vent hinge brackets, puddle welded bonnet hinge brackets again look a mess. Vent pressing doesn’t look “right” to me at a glance (didn’t check it with a vent in place) and they couldn’t even get the angles on the footwell to inner wing brackets right.

That said, they serve a function in that in this case it is far better than the rotten old original 200tdi one that it will be replacing, and prior to these being available there wasn’t many other options now Land Rover no longer build new replacement old spec bulkheads.

Thanks, I've been able to find nothing but mixed reviews of the replacements. Mine isn't 'that that' bad so I may opt for the decent repair. I was hoping it was more like the chassis and there were folk like XD who were making decent pattern ones.
