P400E - Delivery Dates
Hi everyone.

I have ordered a Defender 2 P400E Eiger Grey HSE on the 29 January 2021 and have been given a provisionnal delivery date on 14-20 June 2021 by my retailer.
I am very surprised of such long delays...
I was told it is due to COVID Crisis and Brexit...
I am in France.

I propose we share here our ordering dates and delivery dates to compare.

Its a long time to wait for me !!
Have a nice day

That is the average delivery time. 5 to 6 months is what you will be looking at.

I was told by my dealer yesterday that all PHEV build slots have been cancelled, and deliveries postponed. No updated estimate yet. Don’t have any reason why... Cheers, David

My dealer says me that my build slot is confirmed...
Is it a rumor ?

All I know is that my p400e order, placed October, build date 5 March, was cancelled/postponed.

Dealer said it happened to all p400e models. Cheers, David

I'm not sure what you mean by average but the info put out by JLR suggests current lead times more like 10 weeks:

Obviously, missing components or certain options will mess this average up for individual buyers/specs; or less if your vehicle can be sourced from current inventory.

I’m not aware of anyone that has received a factory order in 10 weeks. Average is based on my own experience and what others have said in here and in the Facebook group. If you can get one in 4 months you’re doing well, 5 months seems the norm. JLR aren’t going to post long delays or it would put customers off.

Fingers crossed, 12 or 13 weeks I was promised -> 30th December ordered, somewhere between 20th and 31st March promised (different dates from same salesman's different promise statements... Rolling Eyes ) Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Might get lucky 🤞🏻 Worth the wait though. What model and engine are going for?

Order date for me was early January; had to wait for the dealer to get their allocation to get it in, so Jan 15th.

Build is mid-March.

Scheduled delivery is May 26th, so just over the 4 month mark overall.

And that's with how many weeks on a boat a UK delivery wouldn't be subject to?

So do JLR have a bigger order book than they are telling everyone or are they producing far fewer than their published wholesale figures?

You are basically accusing JLR of fabricating their figures, which would be a breach of their financial obligations in more than a few of the markets they operate in.

I’m saying you’re not getting a factory order in 10 weeks.

A straightforward 6 pot diesel D200 MHEV S spec with just a tweak to the lights and I was told it dropped into a pre-existing build slot on 12th March already allocated to my dealer - its only when it gets to blighty will the dealer start messing with the Explorer Pack stuff which doesn't have any electronics in it so hope none of that will be a problem! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
