Recaro sportster CS measurement request
I am finalising an auto centre console my defender BMW M57 / ZF 8HP and I thought I should check before I get it trimmed if a set of Recaros will fit either side of it. The console is wider than a standard cubby box to Harris a subwoofer in the rear. The seats are somewhere close to the bottom of the to do list currently but things are getting steadily ticked off and I don’t wanna be left in a position where I have to re-make my centre console when the time comes. I’d really appreciate if someone could give me some measurements for the space between them where they cubby box/centre console sits. Thanks, Mat

Sounds like an interesting build.

The gap between the Recaro seat runner and the cubby box on mine is 6cm. I guess all Defenders are not necessarily the same. Mine is a 2014 puma. Maybe the pic helps:

Thanks Chris, that’s really helpful, would you be able to say what the measurement is between the seat backs please, as per picture?

Hi Mata,

No problem. Wow, your interior looks stunning. Love that wooden floor.

Measuring between the two seat backs at the top of the cubby box is 37cm.
Measuring between the seat base just above my cup holders (like in my pic) is 36cm.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Chris

Ha, that’s not my interior, just a grab off the Internet, mines more an explosion of wiring for the gearbox controller! And gear changer currently!

Really appreciate you taking the time to take those measurements for me.

Best wishes, Mat.

Ha Ha. No worries.
Best of luck with the build. Looking forward to seeing you post more about it once there's less wires on show Thumbs Up
