Middle Row Seats Upgrade (TD5 110)
I have a 52 plate TD5 110 with the low back 60/40 split rear seats. My little ones have grown out of their car seats and I need to fit some high backs. I think I have two options:

1. Fit some Exmoor Trim Premium High backs. I can see a few members have and they look great but but are a bit out of my price range a the moment.

OR

2. Is it easy enough (and has anyone done it?) to fit some early defender seat bases that allow all three to fold and fit the Exmoor Trim Classics at £450 for three? Looking at what I've got, I may only need to add the brackets for the additional split section rather than replacing all the brackets? 2002 Defender 110 CSW TD5

No.2 is easy enough to do but finding the bases may be a challenge. Darren

I did option 2. It was easy enough, the frames are difficult to get hold of, but you do need to factor in the additional cost of catches, nuts, bolts etc. You be amazed how quickly this adds significant cost to the option. Probably worthwhile checking the cost of all the parts to enable a proper comparison of options.

I used 2 high backs and 1 low back, which look very good. I am reliably informed however that the end result is not very comfortable for long journeys.

Hope this helps

The old style 60/40 Exmoors are VERY uncomfortable.

If you can weld...

Thanks for the info all. I think the comfort might be a factor then - if I'm going to do it, I probably need to make sure there's no reason for any more complaints from the back seat passengers!

bankz5152 - those seats look awesome - although I think they be too much of a squeeze in mine as I have an internal hoop on my cage to contend with as well!

After googling some more pics, the Premiums look like they may be the better option - will have to see how deep Santas pockets are this year Whistle 2002 Defender 110 CSW TD5

Those seats look amazing! How easy are they to fit to a TD5 please? Can the frame be modified safely or (like with Puma seats ) do you need extensive chassis mods?
