Coolant Level Low

I'm getting an intermittent coolant level low warning. It clears itself, sometimes in a few minutes, sometimes the next restart. The coolant level is fine, fractionally above the 'Max' level.

Has anyone else experienced this? I guess it will mean a trip to the dealer. 1981 Series III 88 Santana Especial

I had this same coolant error message within the first 500 miles on my First Edition P400. I read from one of the Facebook New Defender Groups that it's been a known issue. According to several on the group, "The coolant needs to be "burped." Apparently air bubbles can be trapped in the line and the level sensor notes this as an empty reservoir? So very carefully open the coolant cap when the car isn't too hot but warm. From there it should let the air bubble out and be good." I followed this guidance on mine and haven't had the error since. My coolant reservoir was always close to max level by visual inspection as well. I'm now at ~4,000 miles on and off road driving and 2 full months of use with no additional coolant level error message. Hope this helps.

I wonder if the two cable ties are a temporary solution whilst they work on a permanent one, or it's the permanent solution itself?
