Defender heated seats timing
Just had some Defender LR puma heated seats fitted to a TD5 and used a retrofitted ebay wiring kit with ignsense (genuine LR TD5 buttons).

I'm finding once the button is on, the seats heat up for approx 5-10mins and then the heating seems to turn off (button still pushed in / led light remains on). If the vehicle is switched off and on again, then the heater will turn back on again.

I was under the impression the heat was continuous if switched on?

Any ideas or should I just get them to look at the wiring again?

Theres a little thermostatic switch on the element that switches the heat pads off when the temperature is reached.

Thank you.

Can this be adjusted at all? Is it easy to get to if so?

No adjustment is possible unless you replace the thermistor with a higher temp setting. If you pull back the seat cover you will see it within the grid. I suppose you could remove the thermistor but you run the risk of overheating. Removing it means you control when it is on or off. If you do that and leave your truck running you risk a fire. I replaced mine with carbon fibre seat elements and they are either on, high, low or off. You control it. Thumbs Up 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
