Hi

Hope some one can shred some light on this for me
I've found 3 connectors behind the dash and want to verify what they would have been for

That's the line I was thinking

I think they're
Rear wipe
Rear wash wipe
And rear heated screen
But which is which?

I also think I've got the relay for rear heated screen if this is the case where would the wires terminate

Blue connector in first pic with white/black wire coming from pin 4: Heated rear window
White connector: Rear wiper
Blue conector in last pic with black/light green wire from pin 4: Rear wash

You do have the relay, so if the wiring is there then it will be at the 6 pin connector for the rear door (you don't have the door of course). Do you have that connector, it would be in the rear right hand corner near the side/brake light.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

just had the rear corner cover off and no plugs. guess I've got no wiring, I've also checked under the flap in wheel arch and no loose connector only the trailer light one.

Much thanks for verifying the switch connectors .

I Still want know where LR has hidden the wiring as there is wiring at the relay?

It goes to the chassis loom connector pair, which is the grey one under the loom at the bottom of your photo.

It looks like it's not there on the left side (which goes off through the rubber grommet and to the back of the vehicle).

You can the large White/Black wire going through the black connector pair on the left side just below the fuse box - this is the HRW relay output to the screen and it then goes to the grey connector. It's just not carried through onto the chassis loom.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Thanks could i utilize this heated screen relay?
eg insert a switch such as this https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/search?type=pro...td5+switch

and fit wire into the loom connector and connect this wire up to an aftermarket heated windscreen or worklights?
has any one got a labeled drawing of the loom connector and which pin i would need to tap into?

we've now verified the switch connectors for the rear wipe and wash. do these work through a relay too if so where would it be located?

Yes, I used those switches for front spots and rear work light on my DC. I used a relay I had from a previous pair of spots though, and the work light does not need one. At a minimum, you can use the wires on the back of your existing dash switch connector for illuminating the switch cover icons when the main lights are switched on. I may have also used existing earth feeds, I cannot remember, but I wired the lights through a secondary fuse box I have installed.

I also looked to see if the rear wash/wipe wires ran to the back of the vehicle, but they did not.
