Seats... the choices!
Right then, I find that I’m constantly slipping to one side of my standard Puma seats, especially off-road, so what are the options? Not over keen on the look of some of the recaros, but there are a few understated ones that look OK, what about the offerings from Exmoor? Who else should I be looking at. Needs to be heated and a seat I sit in, not on! What have you guys got?

Cheers
Col

I’ve always just bought a foam kit and replaced them. I prefer boggo seats in a Defender, a taller cubby is the only essential in my opinion.

Hello

Do you have Standard XS Puma Seats or the Sports versions.

I have heard various reports of Exmoors quality not always the best.

I changed mine XS ones for Sports covers and did them myself, much better imho.

Depends on how handy you are with grinder and metal glue...

RX8 seats are super comfy, available in breakers around the country and come with electric controls and heated seat pads...

It’s the seat bases that need adapting, not the vehicle!

I think you have to use your seat belts and probably gain some weight as I don't have that problem. Whistle Roel

How about changing them?

I swapped these covers....

Fitted new headrest mounts, new foam, base and back and then put them all back together... to finish with this... I'm 6ft 2" and more like a rugby build.... they are far more comfortable.

So...

You choose your colour I really was going to go for the Ivory... but my brain took over...

So buy these (sure these are more than I paid)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Defender-Autobi...Swxklchn3W

It comes with all the kit to transform your original XS seats...

You have to strip the old seats down, covers off, foam out, head rest etc... all gone.

You then insert the new foam. and the new headrest mounts.

Then slide the covers over the new foam and seat.... its hard, very hard... I swore a LOT.... as connecting the bottom piece together was a nightmare. The first seat probably took be 6 hours. Then I had the help of a Small landrover loving person...

The second seat I probably did in an hour Thumbs Up

Check his socks.... His help pulling the two bits together at the bottom made all the difference Very Happy

Its a bit of a phaff but as you can see, seats are like new... Looks better, more comfy and hold you better.

As mentioned they come as the old ones with removable bases, and new heated pads on the base and back (which are hotter than the old ones)

They I think look great, you can buy a pair done but they are more like £1500 and I like to have a go...

Night picture....

Then I had the other bits trimmed to match the leather using the autobiography nappa leather Thumbs Up

I love the look of the premium seat, but I hang the Dog hammock across the back seat and that hangs on the head rests Sad

My 2014 XS leather is cracking badly. I am fed up as I have been rubbing leather cream into them to try and prolong the inevitable but it seems hat hasn’t worked for me.

Plenty of problems with Exmoor and customer service, thought their products were ok?
