Jeez, I'm surprised anyone would ask if it's worthwhile to get at least some kind of wax protection product on and into a new Defender when anything is better than what Land Rover apply ...which, in comparison to previous Defender models, now equates to a big fat 0.
Some of us who purchased new early Pumas [in the pre Zag days on here] were not happy with the lack of wax protection and Land Rover's line that improved production techniques and anti corrosion protection meant that wax was no longer a required [ho ho] managed to convince some dealers to was our new vehicles for £0. Of course the chances of now being able to get the same done for the same cost are, well let's say pretty slim.
My new USW had no protection whatsoever so one of the first things I did was get wax on the chassis, underside and into the cavities, I might keep this vehicle or it may go the way of the other one and get chopped in at 3 years but at least I'll have slowed up it's return to the basic elements from which it was made for a cost a lot less than a fancy SVX gear-lever which does exactly the same job as a bog standard one. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.
[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]
