Spafax Mirrors
I asked about replacement mirrors as the standard and larger set were very underwhelming.

I was advised on Spafax Mirrors and i took the advice and bought a set.

Well made and clamp very tightly with zero movement while travelling at high speeds of 60mph or thereabouts Laughing

They are about the same size as the original mirrors but are convex so give you a better field of view, but make the rear of the vehicle further away which take a little get used to.

I purchased mine from Ebay as it was the best price i could find, links are

VM3 Spafax 205mm x 150mm

You will need 2 of these VM6 KIT's

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adapter-Kit-for...2749.l2649

Message the seller as they'll sort out the postage costs ( i think i paid £17 )

£75 all in for a pair of indestructable solid mirrors.

Well worth it Thumbs Up

Totally agree

Had a set for years (heated, Bearmach)

Got fed up with cracked lenses green laning.

They have survived laning and army navigation events - and clipping the nearside backing into my garage a coupe of times.

They do scratch easily but not enough to bother me, being a hardtop mirrors are super important to me.

Thumbs Up

I had a set of heated Spafax mirrors for years but removed them last year and went back to the oversized OE style (which in one form or another I had been using for the previous 15-years).

The Spafax were ok and field of vision wise compared well with OE mirrors but were smaller than the oversize ones I was used to. That wasn't a problem as they still gave a good field of vision but it was the nightime vision that put me off them. At night it could be like looking into an auto dipping rear-view mirror where you get a double image (a ghost image if you like), not a problem 99% of the time but if you wanted a crystal clear image in the dark then you couldn't get it.
One place the Spafax did win was by moving the mirror rearwards. I have Climair deflectors fitted and the OE mirrors sit slightly too far forward with the edge being obscured by the deflector, the mounting of the Spafax moved them back a little meaning you got to see 100% of the surface.

In the end I removed the Spafax and put them at the back of the shed (just in case I ever decide to give them another go). Just a shame I sold my original mirrors as I had to make up a new set of oversized heads with heating elements!
