Hats off to Merc on this recall
So Merc have a recall on A-Class, B-Class, CLA, GLA & GLB as the oil-supply pipe on the turbocharger may leak.

Someone obviously asks the question "what about other models" and they go to look up the manufacturing records but don't find the paperwork. So they issue a further recall on multiple models - not because of a known issue on these models but just the lack of paperwork. Milestone

Might of happened before but it's the 1st I've seen in recent years. Bow down

Alert number: A12/01336/20
Category: Motor vehicles
Product: Passenger car
Brand: Mercedes-Benz
Name: C-Class, CLS, E-Class, GLC, S-Class
Type / number of model: Type-approval numbers: e1*2001/116*0431*42, 54-56; e1*2001/116*0501*42-43; e1*2007/46*1666*14-15; e1*2001/116*0480*33-38; e1*2007/46*1818*07, Types: 204, 212, R1EC, 204 X, R1ECLS

Company recall code: 0993103
Production dates: The affected vehicles were manufactured between 5 March 2018 and 18 March 2020.
Counterfeit: NO
Risk type: Fire, Injuries

Due to the lack of documentation, there is no confirmation that the screw connections of the turbocharger’s oil-supply and oil-return pipes were correctly executed during the assembly process.

In the event of a loose screw connection, oil might leak at the oil-supply and/or oil-return pipe of the turbocharger.

The leaking oil might then come into contact with hot components, increasing the risk of fire. /

Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users (By: Manufacturer)

They've called another recall for G wagens also, the light switch on 300Cdi/280Cdi professional and greenliner (ADF) wagons, about 3000 all in.

"dust" (sand) can get into the light switch and cause it to give problems. Think this is aimed at the Australian market mainly.

Better I suppose than LR that just shrug their shoulders when the defender light switch melts if electricity gets into it.

Big respect for that. Slightly confused though - W204 production ended in 2014 yet the 204 is listed in the recall for vehicles manufactured between 5 March 2018 and 18 March 2020 Confused
