Adding a MUD interior light above second row help
Ive converted my front (above drivers) and rear (above cargo) over to the MUD LED in my 110. Id like to add a third set up above the passenger row of seats which currently is a dark spot so I picked up another matching LED light and plinth I think they call it (the frame) to match.

My plan was to cut a hole in the headliner where I wanted to mount the light and tap in to the wires feeding the rear light for power etc.

My questions are; is that the best way to do it? If so, anything to know about tapping the wires etc?

Lastly, do I need to back the headliner with anything to screw in to in the new area since it didnt have factory lamps in the location? Thank you for the help!

I’m pretty sure the lights clamp to the headliner itself, so no need to back it with anything. Re the wiring, just remember you need to be wiring it in parallel, not series. Other than that it’s pretty straight forward.

Just fitted one like that. Small hole for wires and led control panel on back of switch them screw to headlining. You can do it without the plinth. Cheers

That is exactly how I did the rear seat area light in my DC (except of course it is connected to the front light because there isn't a load area light on a DC). No plinth needed.
