FFS! Not sure if this car has had any maintenance in the last year or so. Offside rear wheel. Just need to assess what else got knackered in the process. Sad

Clearly not. All the grease had been flung out and it was so dry it must have been going for some while.
I didn't notice it on the drive back from Canterbury. Heard it on a short trip yesterday evening, stopped the truck and could smell it. Gave the wheel a tug and the amount of play left me wondering if would get home.
Bearing, brake pads and a disk required at least. Hoping there is no damage to the axle.
Will check the others before heading off again.

That is my worry. It does not seem bad on first inspection but I do need to work out how to get the bearing inner race off sonja can inspect fully.

My area of concern would be the running surface for the hub seal. If that's damaged then the grease is going leak out/water get in and you'll be back to square one Exclamation 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

The hub is definitely kaput. Come to think of it, I dont even recall seeing the remnants of a seal when I took it off. Hmmm.
Grease all over the disk and pads so the shopping list is
Bearing
Hub
Brake pads
Possible stub axle
New drive flange (worn so may as well replace now).

It might be worth getting a stub axle anyway, you know it'll be right then - definitely strip and check the other side, you might need 2 sets of bearings and seals Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Is there an inboard oil seal on the driveshaft? If so need that as well.

It looks like they took one kit and shared it across two sides Very Happy
No sign of oil seals, no lock washers. They have either disintegrated or were never there.
At least we can do it properly this time round Thumbs Up

There do appear to be different options for hubs and stub axles. Assuming it has the correct axle, does anyone know what part numbers I should use for a 2005 110 td5?

Parts ordered. Was hoping to tackle this weekend but they are not likely to be here until Mon/Tue.
Stub axle, hub, bearing kit and new HD drive flanges. Going to convert to the older style two nut and locking washer for the bearing while I am at it.
Going to check the other side over the weekend as well, just to be sure.
