Secure Tracker Pro pricing
Looking at the LR configurator for Secure Tracker Pro:

12-month subscription £180
36-month subscription £745

Am trying to understand the logic as you would be saving £205 with simple annual renewal over each year over three years?
Is the purpose of the more expensive (on an annual basis) 3-year subscription to lock in pricing in case of increase, or would you choose to pay £205 more just for convenience of not having to renew?

What am I missing?

That 36 month pricing structure defies all logic. Maybe worthwhile talking it over with a dealer. Defender 90XS SW

No

The car comes with 1 year subscription to secure tracker at £250

The first year price for the Pro - is effetively the extra hardware cost.

The 3 year price for Secure Tracker - is just 2 years extra subscription

The 3 year price for secure tracker Pro is 2 year subscription plus the hardware cost.

The annual subscription on the ST or STP is similar at around £250 through LR or £180 if you went direct to TrackStar - but dont think you can.

What makes the “pro” professional? Is it designed for fleet/multiple vehicle companies?

No it has extra tabs that mean it changes from a Cat 6 to a Cat 5 immobiliser

These I think are built into key - trying to find out myself

This prevents cloned keys starting car.

It MAY (Not sure) also give the option to remotely shut the car off - which seems to be the other difference between Cat 5 and Cat 6

Cat 5 is now called S5

Cat 6 is now called S7

If you search

Hi,

STP has an extra chip in the key which validates the key to the car or it alerts Tracker HQ your car has been started with a cloned key.

There is no remote stop facility.

If you use the new version of the Remote App and activate “Guardian mode”, it will alert you as soon as the door is opened.

LR insurance have given us the best price on SWMBO’s insurance for her 90 D250 HSE and admitted that they would not have insured her if we had not bought STP.

If you go into your Incontrol account under the vehicle tab you can check your security and also download the Thatcham Certificate for your insurance company.

Yes on the launch vehicles 2020MY the security system was an extra cost option - that’s why I went with the Green First Edition I was offered and not the Silver one. The Silver one had the e-diff I wanted but no security system at all (both cars were dealer’s stock not factory orders) - I felt that as far as any LR product was concerned any form of security system was better than none so I declined the silver car with the e-diff and took the Green one with the Secure Tracker Pro system. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Steve,

Log in to your Incontrol account and look under the “remote” tab - it will tell you what security you have, the expiry date and give you the Thatcham Certificate if you need it for your insurance.
