DAB Signal.
Bit of a technical one this, but on top of Ferrite rings / clips to block any EMI.
Has anyone tried Mylar sleeving on dab signal cable and sheeting on any external DAB connection units?

USB chargers are often a culprit behind signal loss, LED headlights etc but as Mylar blocks around 95% of EMI I would have thought it might be worth a try.

Some high end cables include Mylar shielding as standard, does typical DAB cables have this?

What frequency EMI do USB chargers typically create? I’m guessing high frequency which Aluminium foil blocks well but not low frequency so well.

I thought it would be worth discussing.

I had good signal on mine, but with added accessories the signal had declined. I have Ferrite clips but haven’t installed them yet.
(Which should be effective in its self).

I’ve also noticed high frequency EMI interference though my sound system if I turn on my LED light bars, so that’s definitely another thing to install some ferrite clips on. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Did you get anywhere with this Steve?
I get some interference from USB charges, both cheap Ebay ones and Bluesea versions but only when leads are connected and charging devices. Used to wipe out FM signals. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Not as of yet, I haven’t got around to it really - being very busy with work.
I do know I get some whine from speakers with LED light bars on so that one culprit that is commonly known. LED headlights can be another too, as well as USB chargers and various other gubbins.

Ideally you want everything isolated except DAB system, with good DAB signal then power up each circuit to see if any are suspect with signal loss.
(That isn’t always easy though and is an idealistic approach compared to parking locations etc).

You’ve actually reminded me to look into this again which is a good thing.

I would try inline fettrite clips like TDK’s, on both the supply and charger lead. See what happens.

I do wonder if the phone signals have an affect too.
When I get the chance I’ll investigate further, at least with Ferrite clips first.

Just purchased some snapon ferrites. Will add some to either end of the DAB aerial lead and go from there. 1999 Defender TD5 110
