play on parking brake

is this normal amount of movement between propshaft and parking brake/transfer box

out of gear with no hand brake on, rear wheels off the ground

Then I’m not sure what you’re trying to demonstrate. With the box(es) out of gear everything is free to move so you can’t really see play compared to a fixed position. There’s clearly backlash in your setup though.

Put the main gearbox in gear and the transfer box in high and then see how much backlash you have. On a Tdci it’s likely to be the rubbish coupling shaft on the back of the gearbox.
