Ram Mount mini maglite holder -FREE!
I've not seen this mentioned anywhere else, so I'm sharing it here.
I've wanted a map light on the dash for occasional use, but don't want to drill holes or modify wiring again.
This set me thinking about making an adapter to hold a Maglite torch in the Ram Mount.

Upon starting to measure the torch and ram arm, it became apparent that the torch will simply clamp in the arm, without an adapter. This is a AA battery torch, with a body diameter of 18mm.

Use the spring end of the arm on the ball, so the other end grips the torch until the clamp is tightened.
The whole thing is secure due to the light weight of the torch.
Alternative mounting positions around the vehicle are easily sorted with extra Ram balls.

This gives me a good excuse to buy another Maglite in black Thumbs Up
There's a wide range now, traditional bulb, LED and LED Pro. £15 to £40

You clever little tinker. I now have a map reading light. I already have a mini maglite in black to match the interior so definitely the cheapest mod to date. (Only problem is I use sat nav and my maps are gathering dust). I'm sure I'll find a use for it though.

I was quite pleased with it, thinking, 'surely it can't be that simple?'
Noting to make, nothing to buy, nothing to get lost.
