Yes, that would add to the annoyance, but I would argue still worth the effort. Cheers

I think there is a D44 version of those rear damper pin mounts too. Anyone know if they fit without fuel filter re-allocation too?

IIRC, last time I looked on their site it mentioned the fuel filter needed re-locating if I remember right. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

This thread has made me realise how much build quality must have taken a nose dive after the Tdi era.

My (early) 300Tdi 110 is still on it's original factory ones and I've been out and double checked and there's absolutely no play on it at all. Similarly still on all it's original door hinges (although those are getting to the point of needing replacing). I'm also surprised at how often I see a Tdci engined Defender with a rusty cross-member and how many ripples there are in the hard-top sides compared to the older ones.

Just an observation. Ed

A very fair observation too. It is hard to escape the conclusion that the later vehicles were just thrown together with no attention to detail, out of parts which had evaded every normal QA and QC system. Shocked

After 68 years of value engineering and cost reductions, all we were left with was the 2016 Defender. Shocked
