300tdi Rear Caliper circuit question?
Hi guys,

Recently fitted new calipers/Flexi hoses/wheel bearings/discs/pads/fluid flush to the front and all is good, thanks for the tips in a previous thread on here!

I've now moved to the back where I am replacing calipers and discs/pads and I have ordered some Calipers which are (SMC500240 or STC 1265R etc).

Just looking at the caliper below there seems to be 2 brake pipe connections. My current caliper has the pipe going into where the orange bung is. This is obviously where I plan to connect into but I've noticed there is another connection above it which has the little 10mm bolt in. Can this bolt stay in? Or does the caliper require 2 separate lines to feed the piston on the other side of the caliper? Tried to search but to no avail!

Hope someone can enlighten me ! 🙂

Happened to have my old ones handy. Doesn't look like that extra bolt does anything.

The bolt will be plugging a hole required to drill one of the internal fluid galleries.
