Possible fault with new defender
Last two days in a row ive locked the defender by double pressing the lock and it makes the beep then mirrors close. Shortly after less than 5 mins ive had a text saying. A theft alert has been triggered, then a few mins later i get a call from LR in control app asked my details then asking if i need assistance. Told them both times my car is fine and no alarm has went off. So lady said take it to my nearest dealer as there might be a problem with the wiring.
Has anyone heard of this before ?

Mine did it while driving, kept getting calls asking if it was me driving, took it back to dealers, corrected in minutes, something to do with the software. The past couple of weeks it's been fine.
Still loving it Thumbs Up

How about the blossoming tradition of recycling this joke on this forum?

Just back from local land rover. Woman i just talked to was a cheeky so and so. Told her the problem and happened to say i was talking to someone else that had the same problem and it was a quick fix. She started shaking her head and laughing then went on a rant about how thats not how it works around here. There land rover was extremely busy and i would need to leave the car and they would get back to me. Told her its ok, ill just go elsewhere and walked out. So ill wait see if it happens again and the. Try the other land rover its only slightly farther away.

Sounds like the place you visited was down to Taggart’s / Looker’s usual standard! If it causes any more issues call out Land Rover Assist. If you don’t fancy a haul over to Newbridge, suggest that you call in at Pentland Land Rover Stirling just off the M9 at J9 on the way to the Bannockburn Visitor Centre, I’ve always had great service from them And it’s where my car will be going for everything. I’m off to Newbridge now to collect the spare wheel cover that has taken only 4 weeks to arrive! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

So much for SOTA ~ isn't this exactly the sort of thing that's supposed to be fixed silently and remotely?
