Milage
Well just back from a week in France - cycling on the Isle de Re. Covered 1154 miles - South Wales - Norfolk - Porsmout - Caen - Isle de Re - Rennes - Caen - Portsmouth - South Wales. Averaged 26.7 mpg with most of the milage in France on the Autoroutes at 110 -130kph when allowed. Very pleased with my 90 XS. SWMBO pronounced the trip was as comfortable as the last time we did the same trip in our previous vehicle a Mazda RX8 but this time with a better milage 26.7 as against 23.6 mpg that time. I hope you paid attention to the lovely scenerie, like the Pompiers collection of 110's & 130's outside of St Martin de Re, not forgetting the donkeys wearing pjs.

Did you lunch with Mr Depp & Mdm Parody & Mr & Mdm Sarkosy as well?

If they missed you, I'll give them your regards in a couple of weeks Thumbs Up

Keith

Yes the donkeys were out in force in St Martin. Passed them everyday as we passed on our way to breakfast , coffee & croissants, on the harbour wall at St Martin ( cafe opposite the Tourism Office ). SWMBO ran ( in training for a marathon ) while I cycled from Camp Interlude nr La Bois Plage to St Martin.

Saw just 1 130 in its livery at the Pompiers station. Wonderful island for cycling.

What I cannot get over is the quality of the roads compared to UK. The autoroutes are excellent and the service areas put ours to shame.

Enjoy your holiday, we did. Already booked for next year and planning on spending a few days in St Martin in January 2012. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH
