Fuel Filter Housing, Plastic Connectors
Just replaced a crumbling fuel filter housing on '52 TD5. All has gone well, until I have come to reconnect the fuel lines.

The plastic connectors are not holding to the fuel housing conenectors. They go on, push home with a little click but then can be pulled off without needing to push in the release buttons on either side. Same happens on all four connectors.

I've tried with the old fuel filter connectors (from the old housing) to check for difference between that and the new housing, but same result; pipe can be pulled off.

I've fiddled round with them for sometime, but just can't get the clips to hold. Am I missing something, is there a technique to reconnecting these pipes?

They came off relatively easily, but I'm wondering if they have possibly all been damaged in removal? Seems unlikely, but I've read elsewhere that these connectors are a little fragile.
