Faulty Conti tyre ?
Noticed these cuts. Never had any tyre defects before. All other 3 are normal and 2yrs old with deep tread. No off-roading and not Kerbed or abused.
Dispose of immediately and a new replacement ?

Keith

Looks a bit like someone has taken a stanley knife to it?

nothing wrong with that if cords are not showing. eg it wont fail an mot if the tester cant use his probe tool and find metal

that looks like kerbing or off roading type of damage.

Surely the edges aren’t clean enough for it to be a Stanley knife?

Picture 3 with the radial cut running through the letter N - scored from centre outwards.

Picture 4 with the radial cut running through the letter C - scored from outer circumference in towards centre.

To my mind that strongly suggests malicious deliberate criminal damage.

I doubt the first one is a stanley knife with the arc - it would be quite difficult to do that. plus looks like numerous light attempts near by.

has someone with a lawnmower or strimmer 'bumperd' into it?

Could I hazard a guess that this tyre is N/S/F? Running approx 32-36psi.
If so more than likely caused by mounting kerbs at speed not scrubbing kerbs I also wouldn’t discount a poorly made tyre.

If not anywhere near the chords swap to the spare or full tyre rotation to the rear.

If malicious damage it would take a pretty determined vandal with a blunt knife/ instrument and time to create them marks, Or is the vehicle usually parked in a position where only that wheel is hidden from cctv or lighting etc?

My bet is on the former as worse hatred damage can be administered in an instant without much risk. Formerly mao99999

Many thanks for thoughts and input. Definitely a strange one. There’s no way mounting kerbs could cause straight sharp cuts and have not been off-road. Is it worth £140 new fitted tyre tho. ?

Cheers

It looks to me like a duff tyre, suffering from scission effects. I would bin it as a matter of priority.

^^^ Agreed re binning.

Down to you but my advice Keith is don't risk the health/lives of yourself and other road users for £140.

Cheers.
It is the N/S/F at 40psi. Iv ruled out malicious intent. Yes new tire on the way.
