Instructions for fitting a VNT...anyone have a copy to hand?
Hi folks,
Slightly strange one, I know.

I have a BAS VNT, bought it over a year ago, but for one reason or another only got to the stage of fitting it today.

I can remember some of the stuff - only fit with an oil and filter change; new oil feed and drain pipes; but I think there was something about using a syringe full of fresh oil into the turbo before fitting the feed pipe, and there may be other stuff I've forgotten completely.

I've got in touch with BAS, but it's late on a Saturday evening so I wouldn't expect them to be across their emails. I'd like to finish the job tomorrow if poss.

I could turn the house upside down searching for the instructions ( or more upside down than it is already due to working from home, and some redecorating!) and I might well have to do that, but I thought I'd just ask here on the offchance that someone has the info to hand, or can remember the different steps from their own install?

Any 'running in' procedure?

Thanks Donald

When I fitted mine (from IRB), was a case of new oil & filter, Had to get a new top feed pipe (Td5 this is), as the factory one was a bit short and pulled tight.

Then just drive as normally.

Thanks Jim - did you prime the new one with fresh oil before you first spun it up? Donald

Can't remember now... .think I just squirted a bit in from an oil can "just to be sure"

not like the old Bedford MJ's that the manual said you had to pour 1/2 litre odd through the turbo after a period of non-use Shocked

Thanks again,

I did get a reply from BAS - at 9.30pm on a Saturday so top marks for that. No different from standard procedure they've said, and my workshop manual doesn't mention priming. Don't know where I got this from - can't think that I imagined it myself, so maybe some perceived wisdom from elsewhere on the web.

That said, I think I'll do it anyway "just in case" as you say.

Looking forward to spinning it up now! Donald
