Pioneer Audio Advice
Can I start off by saying that I was insure if I should post here but as it is a Puma specific question I thought this is where
I should start.

Could I ask if it would be possible for any members who have fitted a Pioneer AVH-Z7200DAB Stereo to their vehicles
To Post a picture of their stereo in the open position.
I am trying to work out if this will interfere with the intended fixed position for my Tom Tom Sat Nav.

I don’t like using my phone which I know a lot of people prefer as I can’t focus on such a small screen.

Also if anyone has any suggestions as to where I could put a fixed position for a Sat Nav as I don’t like the sucker on the window idea

I don’t want to start drilling holes into a perfectly good dash or fitting a double din stereo.
I know many others prefer this option but again it is just my preference to have the single din stereo fitted.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ram mounts are fantastic quality and have a myriad of applications for the defender

if you google Defender ram mounts you will see many set ups, eg the fixings for the dash and passenger handle can be utilised for the mounts

Why can’t you use a phone nav app (such as Waze?) with the Pioneer screen?

But then again, if your in Scotland then maybe the phone signal isn’t great ?

Have you looked at the Brodit website for a suitable Tom Tom/Defender mount?:

“But then again, if your in Scotland then maybe the phone signal isn’t great ?”

We’ve moved on from building signal fires on the mountain tops for communicating these days.

Major problem I see with these fold-out flip-up constructions is they obscure the hazard flasher button and you should move that button (required in some areas anyways). I have a picture somewhere from the work done at a friends 110 and it was quite a thing to do, but we moved all otherwise hidden switches around. Btw, for smartphone navigation you can use an offline nav app like MagicEarth, you don't need something online. Some even use full tablets for navigation Wink. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

I was actually referring to the Brodit Defender specific mount and that was the question I was asking.
That particular mount attaches to the area around the fresh air/ heater vents and I wasn’t sure if it would interfere with the screen operation or obscure the Sat Nav.

This particular unit allows the screen to operate in the open or closed position which means there is no obscuring of any buttons and if I did for any reason need to operate the buttons / switches mentioned then I would simply close the screen / unit.
Again, I don’t want to go hacking into a perfectly good dash to add/move things around.

I am aware that this unit uses Waze which I haven’t used yet, However, I already have the Sat Nav unit.

I see that the “ Signal “ comment has already received the required response 😁

A few photos for you, might not be the best shots though:

I have a Brodie mount and a Tom Tom GO 6200, it does go, but you might have to angle the Tom Tom up a little or the Pioneer screen down.

Thumbs Up

These any help?

Approx driver's eye view, and straight on view from rear. Pioneer single din unit, reversing camera screen on RAM mount at left, RAM mount for MemoryMap tablet (not fitted in photo) above, RAM mount for phone on right. Cluttered but everything is accessible apart from the middle switches behind the Pioneer screen. Personally I am not bothered by the hazard switch since in over 40 years of motoring I have only used hazard lights on a small handful of occasions and cannot conceive of a situation in which having to fold the screen or reach behind it would make a difference (and the screen is always retracted for MOTs etc). You can even still see the clock with only a very small head movement. The only thing that took some getting used to was not punching out the left had reversing camera screen when going for reverse, you have to keep your fingers tucked in.

Gents
Thanks for the photos and the ideas for the ram mounts

Daz110 that was exactly the set up that I was thinking of, as you pointed out there appears to a little interference but
Nothing that I couldn’t live with

Decisions decisions, do I go with my original idea of the Brodit mount or the ram mounts 😳

I got the RAM ball mounted on the Brodit ... best solution I could find and screw patterns match. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

I could also raise my Tom Tom mount up on the Brodit mount to get more clearance from the Pioneer screen if I needed to.
I only set it down for a better view out of the windscreen.

Today was the first time that I have tried the Tom Tom with the Pioneer unit.
As I said before, I’ve just been using the phone apps for navigation.

Is your Tom Tom about the same size as mine?

It’s the Tom Tom Premium go 6”.
Big enough for me to see without squinting😳

I have to say that I have never used any of the apps before. I am just about to have a look at the Waze app
And see what that is all about!

Forgive my ignorance but I take it with using these apps on the move they are using the data allowance on your phone?
