Alpine subwoofer disassemble
Hi there
I am replacing a damage cubby box in a 2015 model 90 and I am trying to disassemble the subwoofer attached in the back of the damaged cubby box to transfer it into the replacement one

The replacement one does not have the holes to attached the alpine subwoofer. I’m so I guess I will drill them.

The thing is how to de attach the alpine cubby box. It seems it has 4 bolts? But not sure if they are bolts or rivets

I know it sound like a dull question but just asking before I go hard with something and break it

Cheers
M

It's nothing difficult, remove the 4 fasteners from inside the cubby box and gently remove the sub. I think they were just bolts under the plastic caps. The electrical connections are on the face that mounts to the cubby, but you shouldn't have to disconnect anything.

Use the steel plate as a template to drill the holes in the new cubby from the outside, then refit it inside the box. Thumbs Up

Managed great outcome, as you stated no need to disconnected
The only surprise was the replacement cubby box was slightly longer by 1.5 cm
Cheers

Yes, the subwoofer version of the cubby is slightly shorter. Strange how LR bothered to change things like this Laughing  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
