bombardment
My poor defender is defenceless against bird droppings (mainly on the front bonnet) as it is parked regularly under a tree... What can I do short of going primeval with the birds?

The car is used everyday but returns to the same spot only to be humiliated. Thus it must be something that can be put on the bonnet and removed easily and can be left against the wall nearby.

thank you for any help.

Best

Today. I received a poo on my motorhome. Somebody was going to pay for that.

I sent the staff to clear up after.

Get an airsoft gun and move the birds on.

These guns fire plastic pellets and you won’t harm any birds, particularly if they are up in a tree, but after a while they will probably choose another tree.

Alternatively (if possible) climb the tree and hang some CD’s or DVD’s among the branches with string. This is seriously supposed to scare birds off.

Take up a new additional hobby - falconry. Rolling with laughter

A hawk will get rid of them.

Be very careful, if the pellet leaves your land you’re liable. Even if it doesn’t hurt anyone or damage anything.

You could try cable tying some anti bird spikes to the tree? Laughing

Also hope you chaps with gun dogs didn’t waste the meat on those woodies?!

I understand it to be more than that:
" It is an offence for any person to use an air weapon for firing a pellet beyond the boundaries of any premises"

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications...y-jan-2011

Although, I had it in mind that if you had permission from the adjacent property owner then no offence existed.

Indeed, if you have permission from the owners of the land over which the projectile flies and eventually lands you're covered.

There's also an offence if you cause "nuisance" to a user of the highway, fairly ill-defined from memory.

Short answer, don't shoot anything unless you can guarantee where the round will come to a halt.
