Calling me
I've seen this at Harwoods in Edenbridge: https://www.harwoods.uk.com/landrover/used...l=Defender

The only thing putting me off is the price, a 7 year old Defender for £33k. However I really like the colour and the spec (aircon post Heritage is a winner). I'm after a daily rather than something that sits in the garage and gets used on high days and holidays.

Maybe the thing to do is wait a bit and see what happens re lockdown / economy.

United Kingdom 2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Aintree Green
I was looking at that earlier Thumbs Up
I've got a 65 reg 90 XS CSW in the same colour and was pondering whether I want to change to a 110. I think that was the only (Approved Used) one in Aintree Green, and I would prefer to keep that colour.
It does look good in those photos with the sun on it, but be aware that most of the year it looks black.
(More than once, on a sunny day, people have asked me if I swapped because my "old" one was black)

edit: forgot to add, yes seemed strong money for a 2013

Whoa, that's more than it would have been new!

Will the prices of cars come down with the current pandemic and it's impact on the economy?

I'd be inclined to wait and see. As (original) defenders get older, condition will be king when it comes to prices.

SY sounds like an Inverness registration. Wonder if it spent it's early years on north of Scotland salty roads... Current Steeds:

2003 BMW F650 the Hack
2000 Elise
1992 Ducati 888 (no longer in bits, yahoo)
1990 TDR 250 (in bits again)
1988 TDR 250 (no longer in bits) and for sale

I asked for the service history and yes it has lived in Inverness for most of its life. The services had been carried out beyond the recommended mileage- only by 3k miles but on a couple of occasions. In combination with the salty roads I’ve decided to pass. They were willing to do a deal though, getting close to starting with a 2 not a 3.

Just out of interest as I’ve noticed on a few posts, What Is the fascination for air con on a Defender?

Totally agree it’s a necessary in the daily drive on a long motorway journey and appreciate all the benefits in the car but a Defender?

On the SVX when it used to move (about 8 years ago) I can’t remember using it but it is the soft top, the 110 DCPU Used to be good but it stopped working going through Fes in Morocco in 2013 and it was missed then but never since, never even looked at repairing it.

Just curious why it’s a must have on a late defender and a complete deal breaker in most cases? Formerly mao99999

I’ve been caught out a few times without and it’s just not much fun. The heat off the transmission tunnel combined with 30c driving through France / Germany / Denmark / Norway ceases to be amusing. I like to listen to music, kids like to be able to hear their music so window down at 60-65 is just crap. So for me at least and for what I want, aircon is a deal breaker for my next one!

Having no aircon on the pre Puma Defenders didn't bother me as the bulkhead flaps allowed plenty of fresh air to flow into the cabin. Albeit with a fair bit of extra noise!!

But once the dash was upgraded and the flaps went, I was glad I had aircon on my Puma, especially on long journeys in the summer.

One more thing to go wrong, and a feature that makes some DIY jobs a lot harder due to the need to get it de-gassed and re-gassed. I'd rather not have it, myself!

It's purely personal choice, and having had both with and without would go for AC every time - not only does it cool but equally important to me is that it also dries the air in the winter and keeps windows clear much better. Muddy spaniels, boots, waterproofs, etc all add to the fug and AC makes a big difference.

@ Steve E.
I never understood why they didn't offer A/C on the Heritage, even if only as an option.
If I recall correctly, some of the export market versions got it.
I was very close to putting in an order for a 110 Heritage S/W at the time, but the lack of aircon was one of the factors that made me back off.

It was an odd one mate,
I even phoned LR to try and pay extra,
One of our friends went on to LR so much about it they threatened
to cancel his order.
