Replacing a 2.2 Tdci idler with one from 4.2 V8
Out of necessity I used an idler from a 4.2 V8 as a substitute for the rather flimsy Ford one on my 2.2. It is slightly smaller in diameter to the Ford idler but lines up and runs great. Tip if anyone else does this - do not use the V8 spacer and reuse the plastic bushes that hold the bolt true in the bearing.
