Twisted Series 11A
Just got an email shot saying saying if you buy a Series IIA in May and look after it, they will buy it back from you in 3 years for the price you paid for it. Unfortunately I don’t have that sort of cash on the hip, but that is essentially 3 years motoring with zero depreciation. Quite a deal and quite a confident view of where the market with be in a few years time.

"From £98.5k + VAT" !!!

The 3 year offer
** Dun’t include the VAT element if purchased by a non VAT registered individual or business.'

I assume this means you're 20% down (£20k) if you're not VAT registered.

I saw that email and presumed they had overstretched themselves and are now experiencing cash flow issues.

Hope I’m wrong because I’m a fan. WARNING.

Was thinking the same. So far this year they have opened a workshop in the US and a sales outlet at silverstone, so plenty of investment for it all to get shutdown pretty much immediately.

It's a bold move to bet that a £100k+ car will still be worth £100k+ in 3 years and 24,000 miles.

Under the current circumstances I would think it's a bit of a gamble to assume that they'll still be around in three years to buy it back.

Agree with every single comment in this thread.

Smacks of desperation to me. Basically borrowed all the money they can and now offering a car as security against a loan from customers.

Seems like they are so desperate to stay in business that short term cash flow is more important to them than the long term consequences of having to buy the car back.

Also... still don’t see what makes it a ‘series 2a’.

Also seen that the owner of twisted has been selling everything he had lying around, including raffling a forward control (even disguising it as a charity auction).

I know what you mean. I can’t fathom what makes this out as a 2a above anything else?

His ‘lightweight’ was best Laughing
Just tagging a name on to get media hype.

Nearly as funny as the Cheshire guy who built the ‘ULTIMATE” 110, got a 110 truck cab, ruined it with tacky crap, used it as his ‘launch’ vehicle for his ‘Ultimate ‘ Land Rover’ conversion company, then asked £60k for it Laughing Laughing
It was truly truly terrible, it took him about 2 years sell it.... it sold for around £15k, that’s how terrible it was.

In fact, it seems like it sold to a specialist.

See it here;

Here’s when he reduced it loads, I took a photo of the sell sheet. Was £37k here Rolling with laughter

Christ. That’s awful.

I suspect that the world generally is tiring of excess and over priced nonsense. To lay the blame for twisted current obvious issues entirely at the feet of the lockdown is probably to simplify the matter.

I suspect most of his market migrated to the new defender. He is now left trying to service the £2.3m loan that he took out to buy the batch at the end of production. That debt coupled with all the above mentioned expansions and stocking finance etc, is probably taking its toll on the old cash flow.

Wow, that Ultimate thing really is grim. It looks like it’s crashed into Halfords. 🤮
