[Wanted] Dog guard LR006447 brackets required
I have acquired a dog guard for my post 2097 110 SW.
It this the LR006447 model but came without the mounting brackets to fit it (not known at the time of buying).

Does anyone have them or know where they can be sourced from? Or possibly a person that can fabricate some?

A 2097 110 sounds cool. I bet it's fusion powered and floats like a land speeder Laughing

There is a fitting kit available, part no. LR006789. It's not cheap, though Shocked

Frankly, it may be cheaper to buy a complete second hand guard, but make sure it has all of the bits. Darren

Peter if its a genuine LR guard the travall fitting kit wont fit.

I'm in a similar position, I've got the guard (taken out of my dad's defender prior to it being stolen), but need the fitting kit. Ordered one from Travall (very helpful people) but nothing like the original. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

yes a bit pricey!!! £123 for the brackets kit.

Anybody on here that could fabricate a set of brackets for me, I have the screw/knobs just not the brackets?

^^^ and they might not actually have them. Last year I was in the same situation. I discovered there is a genuine Land Rover bracket kit. In fact there are two different kits one for the 90 and one for the 110. Some but not all items in the kit are interchangeable.

I bought a brand new reasonably priced kit advertised as for the 110 but it turned out to be the 90 version. No quibbles from the supplier. I returned the kit to them and they refunded me.

It was then I decided to bite the bullet and buy from elsewhere at the eye watering price. That’s when I discovered all the suppliers advertising them didn’t actually have any in stock and couldn’t get hold of them despite ringing round their own contacts.

In desperation I ordered a genuine cargo barrier which came with the necessary brackets. It was a big hit to my wallet but I’m glad I have it. Plus I have a spare set of bracketless barriers taking up space in my garage!

I think there must be a number of defenders about with the brackets in place but no dog guards!
It would seem the guard sits in a garage long after the defender has been sold on or knicked, then when having a clearout people sell the dog guard not realising half the kit is still inside a defender somewhere.

There's probably a market (a small one I admit) for someone to use a genuine set from a 90 and a 110 guard as a template to fabricate replacement ones for people like me 😊

Also I a separate but related note, I'd like to have a guard type door inside the actual rear door. To allow me to open the rear door but still have dogs secured. Not a crate or cage just another inner door setback a couple of inches inside the door frame.

I suspect that you're right as the question comes up often enough.

With regards your rear door query, that again seems to be a perennial question. ISTR that they're no longer made but a search in the site for Travall and something like 'rear door guard' will no doubt find the detail. Darren

I wonder if it's too small a market?

Yes the inner door thing...I've searched and seen the reference to Travall, but there's nothing on their website.

I'm wondering whether I can dismantle a metal dog crate and use a panel with a door in it to fashion an inner door from. It'll need the side edges bending at right angles to provide a door gap and then use some U bolts to fix inside the body.

The current lockdown might give me the time to have a go.

I had the same problem. I bought a second hand LR dog guard for my 110 & discovered it didn't have all the fixings & I couldn't buy a fixing kit anywhere. I ended up buying an alternative.

Which one did you buy? Was it for a 110 SW?

Yes for a 110 SW 2013.

I went for one of these. I'm pleased with it, good quality & easy to fit. Top section is easy to remove when necessary.

And it even comes with fixings ! Smile
