How easy is it to keep bed liner clean?

I want to paint my NAS rear step with Bed liner to give more grip and make it a bit more durable as the dogs claws are already scratching though the Buzzweld. How much of a pain in the arse is it to clean the mud off?

it may stain after time. A good UV clear over top helps
