Afternoon,
I have just finished painting my replacement hinges for the rear door but I know as soon as I torque up the bolts the paint is going to chip around the bolt head, has anybody found a work around for this? Would a hard rubber/plastic washer stop it? I'm also looking at wolf wheels and it seems quite common that the paint chips around the nuts and a nice patch of orange develops? I know there's not a lot of thread left on the nut when you fit wolf wheels on standard hubs so I don't see any solution to this, but if you know of one please let me know. I have a feeling it might be a case of put up and shut up and repaint/replace as necessary once the rust gets too bad |

Torque up the nut If you can get to it, not the bolt.
