I worked this out on a long drive back from the Highlands as my 300Tdi has a 1.2 transfer box fitted to an R380 and a friend has a 2.2 Puma. I think from memory all gears map through pretty much identically 2nd in MT82 -> 1st R380 and so on. The only difference is that they've introduced a lower first to accommodate the taller transfer box gearing.

So they offered from factory a marginally better gearing setup than what people had been doing for years with retrofitting 1.2 transfer ratios. Ed

Are you trying to drop low range as well or just high range? If the latter then what about a 1.6 ratio set from Ashcrofts? Ed

Puma, 1.2 1st is lower and 6th is higher than an r380, 1.4

Its was all.part of the original marketing blurb.

But as salon says r380 and 1.2 box makes pretty much 1st lower and 6th =5th Cheers
