Wow what an amazing job. Superb.

What is the shiny threaded bar sticking out of the rear cross member, under the ladder?

Actually this doesn't do justice one little bit to the story that Henry and yourselves have been through in the last few months. I am utterly blown away by how lucky you both have been and I am sincerely glad you are not giving up. The amount of effort it has taken to get Henry back on his four wheels is both inspiring and extraordinary. Well done and long may he travel these Worldly roads and tracks Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks for the kind comments gents, the guys worked hard to get it done so quickly. Biggest problem was sourcing parts & load shedding ( power cuts)
As for the threaded bar…..we needed a bit more weight Whistle Whistle They're my wife Jens training weights!
Have the two dumbbell bars & collars on board as well.

Where there’s a will there’s a way! In all honesty the Landy family has helped us to no end, one of my favourite quotes “ look for the best in humanity & deal with the worst when you have to”

May I suggest putting your oil containers in plastic bags to keep the dirt off, it will make cleaning them before dispensing oil very mcuh quicker and easier.

Water pump finally gave up the other day after 2 years use ( fresh water submersible) So carried a spare which lasted….5 days!!!

We were lucky enough to be near Gaborone ( Botswana) & managed to get “ Big Bertha” a Seaflo 51 series 20L per min pump.

Had to wind the pressure right down & still pumps like hell!!

Ahh .. the definition of overlanding in a defender ... driving from place to place tweaking and fixing things Whistle

We have a small inline pump that has been very reliable (Ive probably jinxed it now !) which is pressure sensitive so turns on when the tap is open. maybe not as high pressure as your new big bertha but enough for our means ! Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

Morning Gary, we were lucky to find anything & this is also pressure sensitive so I’m making sure everything likes being pressurised and will lose the switch.

Sat at a garage typing this as the EGR valve has finally died! Having it blanked & will hopefully loose the black smoke!!!

Yikes!!!! Big Cry
There is nothing like a defender to keep your pocket empty ! at least all the work now will keep you moving for the rest of your trip ... (touch wood and looking for a black cat!)

Have they got one handy to fit or are you getting one from the UK shipped over (BAS??) Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html
