roof rack mounted rear indicators and brake lights

Hi All,
just wondering if anyone has mounted indicator and brake lights to a roof rack. i often carry bikes in a bike carrier and want to have an alternative set of lights mounted on the roof rack instead of hanging them on the carrier. Looking for tips and good compact LED light options please.
