I have just checked mine and there is about 1-2mm of sideways movement.
Cant say its bothered me before as never noticed it. As long as the battery clicks into place, powers it and is secure then should be ok? |

Just checked mine as well. As per Danny's reply, I can twist the battery from side to side by around 1 to 2 mm, but it has never been an issue. I'm seeing the same amount of movement with both old and new 5Ah & 2Ah battery packs.
But in 6 months + of use, it has never been a problem. One of the best cordless tools I have bought. My air impact wrench hasn't seen the light of day since I got the 899 and my breaker bar/scaffold pipe extension are pretty much redundant!! |

When you find out that DeWalt is a brand of good old Black and Decker, maybe the sloppy battery makes more sense ?
But if they work, I suppose that's all that matters |

Thanks for all the replies , So its normal . If so that's ok as its not that bad , i was just going off my baby 880 and drill/driver which have little movement .
Think the replacement ive ordered at £50 more is the one that can get returned instead . So thanks everyone for saving me £50 |
