Does the temperature guage go to "max" when you turn the ign on?

If so, the rollover switch under the bonnet needs resetting

https://www.defender2.net/forum/post421658.html for the switch.

Could be anything really.... can you hear the fuel pump whirr when youo turn the ign on?

worth wiggling the CPS (Crank position sensor), on the bellhousing, kind of underneath where the above switch is

But without some form of diagnostic machine, you could be grasping at straws.

Relays in the battery box are often a cause of issues... worth giving them a wiggle

I’m sure you have tried the close all the doors, lock with remote, leave a few mins then unlock try start?

Next thought is can you hear fuel pump?

If yes check clean crank sensor, refit and try.

You could then try a tow start, sometimes it can be a dodgy starter putting an electrical spike doofa thing up the thingy.

What is the voltage while turning over? If it drops below 9V orso the ECU shuts down so no diesel will be injected.

Sounds to me or as mentioned one off the relays under the seat or your AS10 doesn't want to do it's thing.

What you could try is disconecting the black plug from your ECU (under the seat) and plug it back. Do the same with the relays maybe a bad connection might confuse the ecu. Roel

hi, have you got fuel in the system if so check the pressure it should be around 60psi. If not could be pressure regulator on rear right hand of head. If not try fuel filter housing there are some valves in there that removes the air from the system

tried a new fuel filter on the 90 and primed it with diesel, it is going through its cycle to purge air but keeps on repeating as it was doing before the filter change

having also changed the fuel filter on my 110 and it purging with 3 turns of the key and starting straight after

why is the 90 not purging the air any pointers

Have you checked it's not the accident cut-out switch on the bulkhead?

Immobiliser battery? Or battery retainer in handset. Can break and give intermittant operation.
Think number of flashes (indicators) gives a clue re battery health. Ex scottish & southern 110 Td5 van (shed) with PTO driven winch (L-R special vehicles)

today i disconnected the high pressure feed to the cylinder head. once the key was turned to the start position, diesel spurted continously out of the pipe, can i assume the fuel tank pump is working

i also removed the rocker cover to make sure the cam chain was rotating once the engine was cranked

still no attempt to start, i need to check the crank position sensor, cant locate it at the minute

any feedback appreciated

Are you suspecting the alarm module? If it's the AS10 like mine I would check the 3 fuses just to be sure. Peter
